This South Hutchinson, KS homeowner has owned the home for over 35 years and dealt with wet basement issues for a long period of time. With plans of selling the home in the future, they opted to have the basement space repaired to maximize its value. The home was built in the 1970’s and was constructed without an exterior drain around the foundation. Due to the lack of drainage, water built up in the soil and put constant pressure on the foundation walls causing them to crack. Water was seeping in through the walls and infiltrating the basement.
To combat this, Thrasher teams installed our WaterGuard interior drainage system and CleanSpace waterproof barrier around the full perimeter of the basement. In addition, they installed our PowerBrace wall supports to permanently prevent the walls from moving inward, and a TripleSafe sump pump system to guarantee the space stays dry year-round.
Storage Room Before Waterproofing
The basement walls appeared stressed from the constant pressure being applied from the exterior.
Stripped Walls
The project began by stripping the walls and room contents.
CleanSpace Being Applied
Our GeoLock wall anchors and PowerBrace supports were installed to stabilize the foundation, and then CleanSpace was then applied to the upper half.
WaterGuard Installation
Our WaterGuard drainage system was installed around the perimeter and throughout the floors for the most efficient and effective path to the new sump pump.
CleanSpace and WaterGuard Almost Complete
This is the final steps before the WaterGuard is finished by smoothing it over with concrete. The CleanSpace barrier was then completed and appleid to the full height of the walls.
Finished Product
The WaterGuard drainage system was completely sealed and the full clean-up process began.
Basement Walls in Need of Waterproofing
The original sump pump is pictured and the water stains on the concrete prove it wasn't adequate for the amount of water the basement was receiving.
