Upgrading a Sump Pump in Hastings, Nebraska
Sumps pumps have been around for a long time, but if you have an older one you probably don't like what it looks like. Sump pumps have come a long way over the years, and that is why sometimes you want to upgrade. A project in Hastings, NE is just such an example. The homeowner was ready to refinish their basement and didn't want to have to worry about their carpet or drywall being damaged. They have had water problems in the past, which is what caused them to update the carpet and replace the bottom portion of drywall in the first place.
The homeowner didn't want to waterproof their entire basement, so the proposal was customized for them. They wanted a drainage system in the area that they have experienced the problems, and an upgrade for their sump pump. They also wanted a radon-neutral system because they have a radon system installed to evacuate radon gas. That made it important to have a sealed system.
The system chosen was a WaterGuard Drainage System draining to a TripleSafe Sump Pump in the corner. There was an existing black sump liner and an older pump. The customer already has a generator, so they chose not to install a battery-backup pump. Since the customer was only looking to waterproof part of the basement, they appreciated that the WaterGuard System and sump pump could be upgraded or added onto in the future if needed.
