WaterGuard basement waterproofing system is an innovative interior basement drainage system designed to solve your basement water problems effectively.

WaterGuard was engineered specifically to solve water problems without the worry of clogging from soils under the floor.

When combined with our sump pumps and other waterproofing products, WaterGuard will keep your basement clean and dry year-round.

How It Works

Unlike conventional French drains installed outside the foundation or alongside the footing, WaterGuard drainage piping is installed inside the basement and won't clog with silt or plant roots.

WaterGuard effectively captures wall and floor seepage before it reaches your basement floor. Water enters the system via inlet holes and flows through the drainage pipe to your sump pump.

We recommend installing WaterGuard along with our TripleSafe sump pump system for optimum protection.

Our Durable, No-Clog Design

WaterGuard has a discreet design. The drainage channel is hidden beneath a layer of concrete; only the top edge of the wall flange is visible, so you'll hardly know it's there. Plus, WaterGuard comes with a 20-year warranty against clogs.

When homeowners experience a wet basement or repeated seepage of water, especially during rainstorms, they might look to a conventional French drain installed outside of the home's foundation. However, French drains are susceptible to clogging from mud, silt, and other debris since they are installed outside of the house. Instead, we recommend our WaterGuard drainage system installed inside the home along the perimeter of the basement. This location allows the system to effectively capture any wall or floor seepage before reaching your basement floor. Not only is this method faster than an exterior drain system, but it also can be less expensive!

Solving the problem with a permanent solution like WaterGuard will certainly provide peace of mind knowing your basement will remain dry all the time. Still, it also allows you the opportunity to furnish the area as additional living space properly. An extra bedroom, man cave, game room, laundry space, or whatever your family needs.

How Do You Capture Groundwater Before It Leaks?

For basement waterproofing to be effective, it should capture groundwater before it leaks onto the basement floor. WaterGuard was designed to solve the issues not addressed in alternative waterproofing methods and to protect the basement against all possible leaks.

Unlike "waterproof" membranes or coatings that allow hydrostatic pressure to build up against the foundation (increasing the chances of high-volume leaks), an interior basement drainage system reduces hydrostatic pressure. It does this by giving groundwater an escape route. But controlling groundwater isn't easy. Water can leak into the basement in different ways and at various locations, and extremely wet weather can put a great deal of pressure on a basement drainage system.

What makes an effective basement drainage system?

A basement drainage system goes by other names -like interior French drains, internal drains, or interior perimeter drains. Whatever terminology you use, the system must have specific characteristics to work effectively:

High-volume, clog-free design. The drain lines should be large enough to handle heavy water flow during wet weather. The drain lines also should be designed to resist clogging that can cause backups.

Drainage to capture basement wall leaks. Water that leaks into the basement through foundation walls should be directed to the drain lines before the water can reach the basement floor.

Drainage to capture leaks around and beneath the floor. Groundwater frequently enters the basement along the joint between basement walls and the basement floor. Drain lines should be located along this juncture to capture floor leakage and relieve hydrostatic pressure.

A sump pump system to move basement water outside. The basement drainage system conveys collected water to a sump pit in the basement floor, where a sump pump automatically pumps accumulated water to the exterior. A reliable, high-capacity sump pump like our TripleSafe sump pump ensures top performance under even the most extreme conditions.

The patented WaterGuard basement drainage system is the result of an experience in waterproofing thousands of basements. Contact us today to schedule a design specialist to assess your situation to see if WaterGuard is the right solution for you.
