Protecting Your Home with Seamless Gutters

 Gutter Shutter on Home

There’s nothing worse than clogged gutters, right? As your home’s first line of defense, gutters are one of the most critical elements for your home! Homes with clogged, the wrong size, or no gutters at all are at risk of foundation damage. Seamless gutters are a popular solution that saves you the headache of dealing with clogged gutters to further protect your home from unwanted damage.

The Problem: Gutter Drainage Issues

Dirty Gutters Traditional gutter systems are installed in sections that leave room for potential gaps in between each piece. When these pieces don’t align perfectly, the gutter cannot drain effectively, and things like leaves and other debris build-up causing the gutter to clog.

During a rainy season, it can be difficult for gutters to keep up with the volume of water, which causes the gutters to overflow and dump the water near the foundation. A typical gutter system is 5 inches, and it is common in our Midwest climate to have rain that exceeds this capacity. In addition, they also contain a filter that is vulnerable to over-filling and can lead to severe clogging.

Thrasher’s Seamless Gutter Solution: Gutter Shutter

Gutter Shutter DescriptionSeamless gutters are custom-fitted for your home and installed in one piece, so there is no awkward gapping or odd-fitting pieces. Our approach to seamless gutters is with Gutter Shutter, a thicker aluminum that can bear more weight and endure wind, ice build-up, and heavy rain, and can be broken down into two parts - the top and bottom.

The Gutter System

Let’s start with the bottom of the seamless gutters. The base of the gutter is extra-large at 6 inches and can carry about 20% more water than the standard gutter. It is guaranteed to never pull away with a 5-point mounting system with two 3-inch screws every 2 feet.  A typical gutter is only 5 inches and during a heavy storm, it struggles to keep up with the water levels causing the gutters to overflow.

Gutter Guards

These guards are the top of the seamless gutters. Themake sure the entire system can function effectively and efficiently. The guards keep materials out of the gutters to eliminate the need for gutter cleaning and increase the whole system’s lifespan. The hood is perforated to manage the water coming in. This is installed under the drip edge and not under your shingles.
