After completing the challenge themselves, father and sons, Greg, Dave and Dan Thrasher of Thrasher and Foundation Supportworks, nominated their employees and offered to match all individual donations up to $100. Thrasher continued the trend by nominating Innovative Basement Systems to face the Ice Bucket Challenge next.

Thrasher saw an opportunity to support a noble cause, as well as get their community at work involved.

"ONE community is one of Thrasher's core values. We believe in 'being an advocate for our community, and returning the blessings that we've been given,'” says Ashley Stansifer, marketing assistant for Thrasher. “The ALS Ice Bucket was a fun way to support our local community's ALS chapter, as well as join in the fight to donate and raise money for a worthwhile cause on a national level. The Thrasher team was excited to take part in this challenge and jumped in wholeheartedly. We are proud to say that in just one week we have raised over $6,000 to support the cause," she adds.

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has gone viral, raising awareness and donations for the ALS Association. The challenge involves dumping a bucket full of ice water over your head, sharing the video on social media websites and/or donating to the ALS organization.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. In 1939, Lou Gehrig brought national attention to the disease, and because of this, ALS is often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS commonly affects people between the ages of 40 and 70. More than 5,600 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with ALS each year.
