Helical Pier Installation in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri & Iowa
Our Helical Pier System Permanently Stabilizes Sinking & Settling Foundations
Is your home showing signs of foundation settlement, such as wall cracks, sinking basement floors, or a tilting chimney? If so, helical piers may be the ideal solution to lift and level your foundation. Thrasher Foundation Repair's helical pier system stabilizes sinking, settling foundations by advancing deep into the soil and transferring the weight of your home to the pier.

How Do Helical Piers Work?
Foundation settlement issues occur when the soils below the home can no longer support the structure's weight. Helical pier systems transfer the weight of your home downwards into deep, hard-packed soils, creating a solid, supportive base.
How Foundation Helical Piers Are Installed
First, we remove the soil from the surrounding area where we will install the helical piers. Then, the helical pier sections are mechanically advanced or "screwed" into the soil below the home.
The first section of the pier that advances into the ground has one or more helical blades or "bearing plates" welded to the shaft. We use additional pier sections to extend the pier to the necessary installation depth and do not have bearing plates.
Once the helical piers have reached the proper depths, they are attached to the foundation using heavy-duty steel foundation brackets positioned below and against the foundation footings. This transfers the weight of the home through the helical piers and to the strong supporting soils below. Then we attempt to lift the house back to its original position before carefully replacing the soil around the foundation.
When Are Foundation Helical Piers Used?
Helical piers are the ideal solution for many homes. They are especially effective when local soil conditions are known because a contractor can easily determine exactly how deep to install the piers to reach adequate supporting soils.
Once installed, helical piers can:
- Quickly lift and stabilize your home
- Restore your home's structural integrity
- Close gaps and cracks caused by foundation settlement
- Potentially improve the operation of doors and windows
- Realign a leaning chimney with your home
- Prevent future foundation settlement issues
- Restore the value of your property
