Greg B. knew his concrete wasn't great. However, he was planning on moving so didn't want to address it. After deciding that moving wasn't in their current plans, he decided that it was time to address the concrete and do something about it. He didn't want the problem getting worse and wanted to know any water would be staying away from the home. He has had Thrasher out in the past, so he knew he trusted us. He knew of our warranties and service behind our projects, and gave us another call. System Design Specialist, Tony Taylor, came out to meet with him. Tony did his inspection and noticed the control joints had cracked open and dirt was getting washed out. Greg's concrete also had signs of street creep on an interior wall from the street pushing through his driveway onto his house. Tony went to Greg with these findings and a solution. Compression Guard was used to stop the street creep and create a true expansion joint. PolyLevel was used to lift a couple areas and stabilize the remaining areas from future settling. NexusPro was used to seal up the joints and cracks on the driveway. Both of these products are also waterproof, helping prevent any more washout. Greg loved this solution and there is no doubt they will be worrying about their concrete any longer. 

These homeowners have been in their home for 25 years and they plan for it to be their forever home. They wanted to preserve the value of the home and prevent any further future issues. Britton found they had settling and cracking concrete slabs outside their garage door that were being caused by several things. There were poor compaction of soil, water washout of underlying soil, and dry out from lack of moisture during dry periods over the years. These create voids underneath the slabs that cause them to settle from a lack of support beneath. Britton proposed we use our 3-Part Concrete Protection System. PolyLevel foam to lift and level the settled slabs, NexusPro to seal up the joints and cracks, and Sealant Pro to protect the surface of the concrete against pitting, flaking, and spalling. The homeowners loved the idea of this, and we got started! They were very happy with the results in the end. They thought the crew worked very hard and everything looks great! Imagine you are living in your dream home, trying to complete your plans of finishing your dream basement, when you find a huge crack on the wall that connected from the basement to the garage. These homeowners lived this. There was water coming in from that crack in addition to every wall in their basement. They knew they needed to pause their plans and call Thrasher, so they did! System Design Specialist, Tim Wurgler, came out to meet with them. Tim inspected the wetness and found that street creep compromised the cold joints, letting the water into the home. Street creep is when the concrete from the street expands overtime, pushing concrete on the sidewalks and driveways towards the home. This can also lead to cracking and uneven concrete. Tim proposed we do a full perimeter Waterproofing System, TripleSafe Sump Pump, Compression Guard, and Nexus Pro.  The Waterproofing System along the perimeter of their basement would include CleanSpace and WaterGuard. CleanSpace is a waterproof plastic shield that catches the water from the walls, and leads it into the WaterGuard. WaterGuard is our draining channel that leads the water into the Sump Pump and out of the home. The Compression Guard is for the end of the driveway, to prevent street creep, and NexusPro is a caulking like solution to fill in the cracks of the driveways. The NexusPro also acts like a seal to prevent the water from seeping into the foundation. The homeowners were so excited how quickly we could come to a solution and get the project started and finished. There is no doubt they are having the best time finishing their basement so they can host their friends and family! 

These homeowners in Papillion first noticed water in their basement three years ago and has come in twice since then. To protect and prevent damaging their finished basement, these homeowners knew they had to find someone to fix this issue. At first, they considered hiring someone to just inject epoxy into a crack in the wall. But this method would have just moved the water entry point to a different location and could have potentially made the problem harder to fix. That's when they decided installing a waterproofing system was probably the best bet and most long-term, sustainable solution to their problem.

System Design Specialist, Eric Wulf, went out to their home to find out where that water was coming from. He found out water was entering the finished basement through the cold joints where the floor meets the wall. And it was also entering through a crack in the wall that was visible from the exterior. He also found there was a 16" gap between the foundation wall and the drywall. So here's what would happen. Water would enter the basement and then flow over the floor to the sump pump. Which then created a wet environment behind that drywall. 

To fix this problem, we removed the drywall, studs, and about 12" of the floor in the affected area. We then installed Waterguard under the floor and a Cleanspace vapor barrier on the wall to cover the crack and direct the water into the pipes under the floor. Now, these homeowners have peace of mind and no longer have to worry about what's going on behind the drywall.
