Bowing Wall Solutions in Kansas City, MO.

Craig and his family have lived in this home for over 30 years. He began to notice a crack in the basement walls and kept his eye on it for years. Craig decided it was time to call Thrasher when he noticed a more visible deflection in the wall. He began to worry that the wall would eventually cave in. Hydrostatic pressure outside of the home builds up pressure around the existing foundation walls. This is due to the soil around the home settling and allowing gaps for water to create pressure, causing the walls to bow.

For this project, PowerBraces were used to permanently stabilize the existing wall. PowerBrace is a product that is made with galvanized steel and fits the exact height of your walls. A unique feature of PowerBrace is that it is secured at the base of the wall, and has an adjustable feature at the top, allowing for the walls to be straightened over time. Craig and his family can now rest easy that they will avoid total wall failure.

Foundation Repair in Lincoln, NE

This homeowner is a mom of three who owns an older block home experiencing wall failure. The walls were pushed in significantly, and she knew she needed to fix them to protect her home and family. She reached out to a few companies to get estimates. And a lot of them told her she would have to replace her foundation. Foundation replacement is super intrusive and annoying to deal with, so she explored other options. That's when she came across Thrasher.

We sent out System Design Specialist Neil Kwiatkowski to inspect the walls. He found that every wall was pushed in over 2 inches during the inspection. Because of this extreme deflection, her back walls needed some serious wall support.

To fix her foundation issues, we used geo-lock wall anchors and power braces on her front and sidewalls. And then, for her back walls, which were experiencing the most wall failure, we used EverBrace to take the weight off the original walls and support the weight entirely.

The customer was thoroughly impressed by the job and ecstatic she didn't have to replace her entire foundation.

Foundation Repair in Lincoln, NE

This customer is living in their forever home. They've raised their family here, and when the nest's empty, they've decided to stay, too. Along the way, they've made a lot of upgrades to make sure their home maintains value. And their next project? Finishing the basement. But before they do that, they first need to address their home's foundation issues. That's why they called Thrasher.

System Design Specialist, Wes Marshall, went out to their home to inspect the foundation. During the inspection, he noticed that the south wall of the house was showing signs of wall failure. The previous owners had a different company address the issue, but it appeared they only provided a band-aid solution. The installed wall supports were not properly braced or attached to the floor joists. Due to this mishap, they were actively failing.

The solution to this problem was installing wall anchors. There were too many obstacles in the floor joists to install PowerBraces, and with so much deflection, we decided wall anchors were the best solution. We installed the proper amount of wall anchors with spacing to provide a permanent solution.

This is a classic case. So many homeowners are under the impression that what was previously installed provides desired results. In reality, in this homeowner's case, the braces were failing, and the wall was still moving. Luckily, Thrasher was able to identify the problem and come up with a permanent solution.

Sagging Floors in Belle Plaine, KS

Did you know having very heavy items in your home can cause your floors to sag? This is what happened to LeAnna's home. She had recently put in new tile and drywall, only to have it crack again. It was time to get to the bottom of it. She called Thrasher and we came out to find out what was really going on in this home. Jason White found the home had a very large crawl space without much support. Without that support, things like heavy furniture upstairs will make floors sag.

It's an easy fix, though. We installed SmartJacks and supplemental beams in her crawl space to help fully support the floor and the weight.

LeAnna was so happy with the results and that the crew was able to get the floor within 1/16" throughout her home.

Foundation Repair in Wichita, KS

Nick noticed a large crack above the door of his mother's house. He called Thrasher to maintain value and make sure his mom was safe in her home. Jon Graves went out to the home to find out what was happening. He found the garage had settled to the outside corner, causing a large crack above the door to open up. To fix this, we installed push piers. But then things got interesting.

When we did the lift, the result was excellent. The crack closed up, and everything looked good. However, the crew left, and when they came back the following day to finish up, they noticed a new crack behind the old crack had opened in a straight line down the mortar joint. This is something that can happen when lifting a home, especially brick. It doesn't happen often, but we always mention to the customer the possibility. Once we noticed the new crack, we instantly checked to ensure there was no settlement, and luckily, we found none. We then sealed the crack and blended the mortar to be less visible. Everything was good as new again!

Nick and his mom were excited that the crack had closed up. They were, at first, concerned about the new crack, but they felt more at ease that we immediately addressed it and fixed the issue. Their garage is stabilized and will not be moving anymore.
