This family in Johnston, IA called Thrasher Foundation Repair to fix their wet basement. They had water in their basement each Spring and Fall. They were ready to have a dry basement all the time. The family is now starting plans to finish their basement and extend their living space, now they can have a dry basement all the time.

The customer had a dirt floor in their crawlspace and wanted to get it covered. They contacted us after seeing our ads on TV. We came out and gave her an estimate on a full cralwspace encapsulation. We then went back out and installed our cleanspace to cover the dirt floor.

These customers both work at home and have plans to build an office in their basement. Before they can embark on that project, they must waterproof their basement, as water occasionally leaks in through the floor. We came in and installed WaterGuard and CleanSpace around the exterior perimeter of the basement running to a sump pump. Additionally, we installed IceGuard, a solution to clogged and frozen discharge lines. Now the basement is ready to be turned into a great workspace!

This home had a white, chalky substance on the walls, called efflorescence. Efflorescence is the deposit of salts left on masonry after the water evaporates. It appears on surfaces like concrete, retaining walls, stone, and stucco. Though it's not harmful, t's a good indication that water is in the basement. To fix, we installed a vapor barrier and interior drainage system.
