New Concrete Settled 3 Inches in Cambridge, NE
Paul's sidewalks around his home were settling, even though the concrete was only three years old. Not only did he not like the way it looked, but he was also concerned about water finding its way into his basement. He had heard good things about Thrasher, so he decided to give them a call. System Design Specialist, Nate Smith, went out to Paul's home to see what was going on with his concrete. Upon inspection, Nate found that Paul's sidewalks were settling towards the house, with some places settled over 3 inches.
To fix this, we decided to use PolyLevel to lift and level the settled concrete and then went in with NexusPro to seal the cracks. Paul was more than pleased with the final result and thought it would never look as good as it did in the end.
Front Step Repair in Salina, KS
The front steps to Cindy's home had poorly settled, causing a huge tripping hazard to any guests visiting her home. System Design Specialist Brent See went out to her house to see what was going on and how Thrasher could help.
We found that Cindy's front step was 11" from the top of the stoop. Cindy was extremely worried the only option would be to tear out the step altogether, but we assured her this was an easy fix with PolyLevel.
PolyLevel raised the step to its original height, making her front steps look like new again!
Preventing Sidewalk Trips in Kansas City, MO
Tom witnessed a young girl crash her bike on the sidewalk in front of his house. Worried that others might trip and get hurt, he knew he had to do something. He also knew that he'd have to replace the concrete completely if he waited any longer and knew that would be a higher price tag.
After doing some research, Tom landed on choosing Thrasher because of our reputation and knowledge. He felt comfortable with us, the solution, and our price. We sent System Design Specialist, Brandon Powers, to inspect the concrete and develop a plan.
Brandon noticed areas of concrete settlement and cracking throughout his driveway, front walkway, and sidewalk. He also saw some issues with drainage in the front of the house where the downspouts were located.
Brandon proposed a plan and walked Tom through it. After that, our install team got on-site and got to work. We used PlyLevel to lift, level, and stabilize all of his concrete. Then we used NexusPro to repair cracks and seal all joints. We also buried two of his downspouts to help fix his drainage problem.
Tom was so happy with the final result and felt better knowing nobody in the neighborhood would get hurt from his unlevel sidewalk.
Street Creep Repair in Lincoln, NE
The home was experiencing significant street creep, sinking concrete, and big voids under the concrete. We used a compression guard to prevent further street creep and reverse anchors to avoid the back wall of the garage from tipping over any further.
Sagging Driveway in Lansing, KS
Henry A. knew that his driveway needed some help and general maintenance for a few years now. Since he knows he's going to be living in his home for a long time and tries his best to take care of his belongings, he figured now is as good a time as ever to invest in his concrete.
What exactly is going on with his driveway? A few things. Henry noticed the center of his driveway sags a little, creating a "gut check" when he's shoveling snow. There are also voids along the sides of the driveway and back patio. And on top of that, he's nervous that someone could trip where the walkway meets the driveway. Henry's biggest fear is that these little problems will get worse over time and end up costing him more down the road.
After looking into different concrete companies, he decided on Thrasher because of our professionalism, our BBB rating, and our experience. When we got Henry's call, we sent out our System Design Specialist, Brandon Powers, to inspect the driveway and come up with a plan of action.
After inspection, we decided to go with our level 3 Concrete Protection System throughout the walkway and driveway. This lifts and levels the concrete fills voids, repairs cracks, fills joints, and seals concrete to protect it from additional wear and tear.
And now it's good as new! We're happy Henry decided to take good care of his concrete and jump on these issues early to prevent bigger issues down the road.
