Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

Jill was so excited to move into her new home last year, until winter hit. Her crawlspace felt the temperature when the cold hit, causing her waterlines to freeze and burst. This is her long term home and wants peace of mind this won't happen again this year. She called in Thrasher, and one of our System Design Specialists came out to help. To keep the temperature regulated in her crawl space, we installed our crawlspace encapsulation called Cleanspace. Cleanspace helps keep the outside dirt and cold on the outside, keeping your whole house warmer in the cold months, and cooler in the warmer months. Check out the before and after here!

From time to time, Ivan would get water in his basement. Then he noticed his floors were starting to sag. Worried about mold and the integrity of his home, he wanted to fix this problem, especially since he has plans to give this home to his daughter. He knew a band-aid fix wouldn't work and wanted a permanent solution. So he called Thrasher. One of our System Design Specialists, Austin Ahlf, went out to Ivan's home to figure out the root of the problem.

Upon inspection, we found that water was entering through the coal joints in the wall. On top of that, his crawl space was sagging as well. We used WaterGuard with a lateral to the sump pump to fix his water issue. We then used CleanSpace, a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier, to divert any water intrusion and channel it away from the home. And then, for his crawl space, we installed SmartJacks to lift and level his support beams back into place.

Jason N. is a homeowner in Pierce, NE, who recently purchased a second home, but was worried about the crawl space underneath becoming an issue in the future. It’s common for poorly sealed crawl spaces to decrease the efficiency of a home, decrease the air quality, and cause foul odors. Our crews arrived at the home in Pierce, NE, and immediately went to work encapsulating the crawl space. Homeowner Mike is anticipating selling his home in a few years and wants to fix a few things. He noticed his floors were sagging and soft. He also noticed his walls and doors were cracking and sticking. After doing research, he realized his home might have a foundation problem. 

Thrasher came out to his home to inspect the problem. Sheldon Sharp, System Design Specialist, found the main beams in Mike's crawlspace were rotted and had settled over time, which explains why the floor was soft and the walls were pulling away from the ceiling.

He brought our install team to the site to work their magic. They installed three I-beam support sections and jacks to support and push up the floor, which will give them more stability.

Mike is happy with the results and loved how professional and communicative we were through the entire process. 

Look at this transformation! From dirty, musty crawlspace, to a clean, healthy crawlspace. For this project, System Design Specialist, Jeremey Scott, came out to help. This crawlspace was battling a multitude of issues from water, to humidity, and a nasty musty smell that was seeping into the home.
