Waterproofing in Blue Eye, MO
Shelly is a proud homeowner and noticed a musty smell in her bedroom. Since we were there looking at her garage wall, we also conducted a thorough inspection.
Our System Design Specialist, Zach, was able to identify the reason for the smell was due to high humidity and lots of mold in her crawlspace. We were able to transform her space with full encapsulation and added our SaniDry humidifier. This brightened up the space, removed the smell, and she can comfortably use it for storage.
Crawl Space Structure Restored in Aurora, MO
This homeowner noticed a sagging floor in their home after living there for a few years. As the years passed, they noticed the problem had become noticeably worse and it raised some real concerns. Ultimately, the homeowner decided to fix the problem before it got worse and became too far gone, so they called us.
We sent System Design Specialist Nick Tiberghien to inspect the crawl space and determine the cause and solutions for this homeowner's sagging floor. Nick noticed that there was a large gap between the baseboard and the floor, and that you would feel the cooler air coming from the crawlspace. He determined that there was a lack of support underneath the floor due to the high moisture content that weakened the floor supports. Reassuring the homeowners that this was a fixable issue, Nick and his team got right to work on installing SmartJacks to stabilize the floors and lift them to their original position. After this, they installed a SmartSump to control the soil moisture and a CleanSpace vapor barrier to help reduce the humidity caused by water in the air.
The homeowner was happy that the floors were able to be raised and that the water issue was addressed. Check out this homeowner's crawl space restoration!
Suspended Floor Problem in Aurora, CO
This homeowner was selling their house, however their suspended floor began rotting out which was hurting the property value. Concerned that their house might not meet inspection standards, they gave us a call.
We sent System Design Specialist Anthony Salcedo to inspect the support structure of the suspended floor to look for the reason that it began to rot. Anthony found that years of water coming off the hvac system had seeping into the flooring system which caused the metal supports to rust. This meant that the flooring system was compromised and that something needed to be done so that the floors could be structurally sound. Our team installed two Smart Jacks and a supplemental beam to stabilize the suspended floor. These Smart Jacks are made of galvanized steel, which makes sure that they do not rust like other steel or metal support jacks.
The homeowner was so happy that they could close on their house. Check out their new crawl space solution!
Old Stone Foundation Repair in Kansas City
This home had an old stone foundation that was leaking water due to the grout falling apart. Water was entering through the walls and cold joint where the floor meets the bottom of the wall. To fix this issue, we installed an interior draining system to control and redirect the water away from the home. We also attached a vapor barrier to the wall to keep the walls 100% dry and clean. We also installed a trench guard system around the HVAC and the water heater.
Crawl Space Encapsulation in Kansas City, MO
Ruby was tired of worrying about her crawlspace. She had very high humidity and her home was feeling the effects of the moisture. She was also worried about the high moisture content in her main living space.
But her biggest concern was mold growing in her crawlspace and creating bigger problems in the future. She decided this was the time to do something about it. She called Thrasher and we sent out System Design Specialist, Jimmy Hungerford, to inspect.
Upon inspection, Jimmy found that Ruby's crawl space had a very high moisture content and it was causing her entire home to have extreme water moisture in the air and the building materials. On top of that, her sump system was failing and needed to be replaced.
To fix and reduce the moisture in the air, we buried her downspouts away from the home, added a new sump system, and encapsulated her crawl space to protect the home from additional damages. We also added a Sedona Air Filtration system.
Ruby was happy with the results and was excited to use us for other home repair projects in the future!
