Crawl Space Encapsulation and Wall Anchors in Skidmore, MO
Kim and her son were having allergy issues and mold/humidity was a big concern. They noticed that they had sagging floors and the walls were bowing in which they believed might be some of the problem. Their house was built in the 1880s and they wanted to ensure that it is being taken care of. They were looking for better air quality and to repair their crawl space.
They decided to call us at Thrasher Foundation Repair and we were able to identify their issues and make a plan to resolve them. We encapsulated the crawl space with a product called CleanSpace. We added a Sedona Sani Dry dehumidifier to reduce humidity. We also added 5 GeoLock Anchors on the east wall to support the bowing walls.
Crawl Space Encapsulation in Bonner Springs, KS
This homeowner called us with concerns of radon vapor in his crawl space. He was interested in encapsulating to control the moisture content and bring down the radon levels. Bobby Bartow, a System Design Specialist at Thrasher, visited the home to see what was going on. Upon inspection, he found the crawl space had a dirt floor with walls showing signs of moisture. Moisture in a crawl space can come from many different areas including the ground, the base of the foundation, as well as the walls themselves.
After showing the homeowner his options, he decided to encapsulate his crawl space with CleanSpace. Not only will this keep moisture from getting into the crawl space area, it will also provide a vapor barrier which could reduce the levels of radon on the lower level of his home. We also went ahead and upgraded his sump pump to the TripleSafe sump pump so he doesn't have to deal with his basement flooding.
Crawlspace Encapsulation in Griswold, IA
In the warmer months, The home would have a bad odor coming from crawl space. This was because there was no encapsulation that prevented the soil moisture from coming into the house from the access window that is in the basement causing mold to grow.
We used CleanSpace Encapsulation to ensure that the soil moisture was under control, a SmartDrain to collect and disperse the collected water, and a SaniDry to improve the air quality of her home by lowering the air humidity and getting rid of the nasty smell she was dealing with.
