Thrasher has helped in the past with making this home the one that can stand the test of time by waterproofing the basement. During the annual maintenance, our team always performs a thorough inspection to make sure small problems aren’t going unnoticed, and therefore turning into bigger problems. Upon the inspection, System Design Specialist Wes Marshall noticed two basement walls showing signs of stage-two failure, caused by the soil surrounding the foundation. Fortunately, the problem was spotted in its early stage and Thrasher could provide a solution before it were to get much worse. Without hesitation, Patricia put her trust in Thrasher to give herself a peace of mind, and confidence that it was going to be done right.

 Wes Marshall and his team arrived in Lincoln, NE to begin the project. Patricia opted to have them install our PowerBrace Support System to permanently stop any movement inward from the walls and reverse the damage over time. PowerBrace is a galvanized steel beam that runs the full height of the foundation and then is fastened to the concrete basement floor. It’s then attached to the floor joist using one of our brackets to give it the permanent security it needs. All installation is done internally and saves Patricia the stress of any external excavation.

Dennis and Sherry D. are proud homeowners in Atlantic, IA and are willing to go above and beyond to protect their greatest investment. Recently, they noticed their floors on the first level of their home were uneven and lacking the support they needed. Dennis and Sherry have a history of customer loyalty with Thrasher. Within the past five years, we’ve waterproofed their basement, installed a radon mitigation system, and addressed any issue with the home’s concrete.  To begin the project in Atlantic IA, System Design Specialist Jeff McCormick completed a thorough inspection to develop the most permanent solution to benefit the home the most. Dennis and Sherry opted to have our SmartJack Support System installed to stabilize the floors above. This is a permanent solution and can be adjusted, if needed, over time. It attaches to the already existing beams and is solidified in the ground to give it the lasting support it needs.

 As always, Dennis and Sherry were impressed with our dedication to quality and customer convenience. Thrasher has continued to repair any issues or changes in their house over time. We’re fortunate to be able to build lifelong relationships through the variety of solutions we offer.

Darrell and Dixie N. have been doing work on their home and wanted to make sure that the foundation was stable. Darrell and Dixie noticed that the drywall was cracking and the floors were buckling. Concerned that they work they have done on their home would be worth nothing, they decided to call Thrasher for a permanent solution that wouldn’t cause any more problems.

The crew went out to their home and saw that the crawl space had water, the floor was buckling, and drywall cracks were throughout the home. We installed 22 SmartJacks to lift and stabilize the floor. We also put in a sump pump and fully encapsulated the crawl space with CleanSpace so the space would stay dry. Darrell and Dixie were very excited to no longer have to worry about the floors or crawl space.

Elaine K. noticed for a while that one of the walls in her garage had a crack but was never sure what caused it. Looking to keep up on her home and not wanting the crack to get worse, she knew she needed to have a contractor come out to her home. Elaine previously worked with Thrasher and knew we could help her.

Service Technician Daniel Hilkemann went out to Elaine’s home. He was able to see that street creep was causing the walls in the garage to crack. The crew installed CompressionGaurd in the driveway, which helped alleviate the pressure being applied to the garage and foundation walls. Elaine had a great experience with Thrasher’s crew and was happy that her garage walls would no longer have any problems!

Houseowner Debra K. recently moved to Wausa, NE where she would settle in her forever home. She chose to remodel the entire house except for the basement after noticing the foundation walls were beginning to fail. Familiar with Thrasher and the quality of work we do, she made the right choice and gave us a call.

 One of our System Design Specialists, Ryan Van Cleave, arrived in Wausa, NE to perform a complete inspection of the home. Ryan indicated there was stage-two wall failure in three different walls, and over time would continue to move inward. During the inspection Ryan also noticed the support beams beneath the floor were severely cracked and lacked the structure the floor would need for years to come. In order to make her forever home a reality, Debra made the decision to follow through with both solutions.

 To combat the failing foundation walls, the team installed our PowerBrace wall support system and wall anchors to stabilize them permanently without any invasive drilling or digging. Then, SmartJacks were installed to replace the existing support beams to give her flooring the structure it needs to last. These Thrasher solutions gave Debra the confidence she needs to begin remodeling her basement.

 In addition to the outcome, Debra was more than pleased with our efficiency throughout the duration of the project. Her basement is now a usable space, and ready for her to complete her forever home.
