Strong Storm Tests a Sump Pump in Paradise, KS
This homeowner wanted to ensure that his crawlspace continues to stay dry even after the strong storms that had been happening. He started using a different company to help his crawlspace, however when they were no longer servicing him, he gave us a call.
We sent Service Technician Brad Metzger to inspect the crawlspace to see if anything would prevent it from staying dry. Brad found that due to the big storms, 2 of the homeowner's 4 sump pumps were no longer functioning and that the power in the crawlspace no longer worked. The battery backup power on the homeowner's sump pumps was also out of function. Brad knew that due to the size of the crawlspace, the homeowner needed at least 4 sump pumps to ensure that the crawlspace stays dry even during large storms, so he replaced the 2 broken sump pumps with new ones. After that, Brad ran an extension cord from the power in the house to the pump that cycled the most water to help maintain the dry crawlspace until the crawl space power is functioning. The homeowner is considering a new battery backup system, however they have not decided on that yet.
The homeowner was very happy that we were able to diagnose the problem even though there was no power to see the sump pump system in the dark crawl space. Check out the new sump pumps that replaced the older sump pumps!
Wall Anchor Maintenance in Belle Plaine, KS
This homeowner had wall anchors placed in his home a few years ago by our team, however he had not had any annual maintenance appointments scheduled to ensure that he was properly taking care of the anchors. He decided that he needed peace of mind about whether he was taking care of his wall anchors correctly, so he gave us a call.
We sent Service Technician Jason White to inspect the wall anchors and reassure the homeowner that he was properly taking care of the wall anchors. Jason looked over the installation pictures with the homeowner and pointed out the differences that had already been made since the installation of the wall anchors. The over 100-year-old home was secure and everything was functioning to push the walls back into their original position over time.
The homeowner was very happy to have peace of mind that he was doing the right thing with his wall anchors, and he already scheduled another annual maintenance check in for next year. Check out how far the anchors have moved this homeowners wall since they were installed!
Concrete Repair in Colorado Springs, CO
This homeowner was concerned because there was a void in his driveway that was getting worse and causing the car to start sinking into the void while it was parked. After looking into companies to help, he gave us a call.
We sent System Design Specialist Anthony Salcedo to inspect the cause of this sinking concrete and come up with a solution to fix his driveway. Anthony found that the soil underneath the concrete could not hold the weight of the concrete as it was poorly compacted because the soil was backfilled when the home was built. The weak soil underneath the concrete allowed the concrete to sink, so Anthony suggested our team will lift and seal the concrete. Our team utilized PolyLevel Concrete Leveling and NexusPro Cracked Concrete Repair to lift, level, and seal the concrete driveway.
The customer was very happy with the project and he was very excited to be our first customer in Colorado Springs. Check out his newly leveled driveway!
Suspended Floor Problem in Aurora, CO
This homeowner was selling their house, however their suspended floor began rotting out which was hurting the property value. Concerned that their house might not meet inspection standards, they gave us a call.
We sent System Design Specialist Anthony Salcedo to inspect the support structure of the suspended floor to look for the reason that it began to rot. Anthony found that years of water coming off the hvac system had seeping into the flooring system which caused the metal supports to rust. This meant that the flooring system was compromised and that something needed to be done so that the floors could be structurally sound. Our team installed two Smart Jacks and a supplemental beam to stabilize the suspended floor. These Smart Jacks are made of galvanized steel, which makes sure that they do not rust like other steel or metal support jacks.
The homeowner was so happy that they could close on their house. Check out their new crawl space solution!
Musty Smells in Branson, MO
These homeowners were struggling as musty smells were seeping into their home. They had read some of our reviews and they loved the work they had seen, so they decided to give us a call to discover what was happening in their home.
We sent System Design Specialist Justice Haven to inspect the crawl space of this home and determine what was causing these musty smells. Justice found that there were excess humidity levels which caused moisture to be present. The additional moisture caused mold to grow, which can cause musty smells in the upstairs levels of a home. After talking to the homeowners, our team started right away on installing a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, Drainage Matting, and a SaniDry Dehumidifier to get rid of the excess moisture and mold in the crawl space.
The homeowners were very happy with the outcome. Check out their new crawl space!
