Bon and Joanne G. inherited this home in Marion, KS and wanted to fix the water issues in the basement to increase the value before selling the property. In addition, they wanted peace of mind for the next owner knowing they wouldn’t have the problems on their hands. To begin the project, System Design Specialist Robert Griffin arrived in Marion to perform a thorough inspection on the wet basement to develop possible solutions. This is an older home, and it was determined that the point of entry for the water was near the brick fireplace and high moisture content in the south wall. The team began waterproofing the basement by installing our WaterGuard drainage system around the full perimeter. Next, CleanSpace waterproof barrier was applied to all the walls to prevent any moisture or water vapor from entering the space. Lastly, a TripleSafe sump pump system was installed to guarantee the basement stays dry year-round. Each of these products are effective on their own, but when they are combined it’s the ultimate waterproofing solution.

To begin the project, our System Design Specialist Tom Studer arrived in Raytown to perform a thorough inspection of the home. The driveway and sidewalks had multiple areas of settlement that had caused cracks and an uneven surface. The back patio had sunken areas that created a tripping hazard when entering the home. Both issues were caused by the soil underneath being washed out and not being able to support the weight of the concrete. This was solved using our PolyLevel foam to permanently lift and level the concrete. It’s a lightweight and waterproof solution that guarantees no soil washout in the future without adding any extra weight. This was then paired with our NexusPro sealer to fill all cracks and control joints to prevent any water from seeping through. These two products combined not only increase the lifespan of the concrete but enhance the appearance in order to increase the property’s value.

Then, they applied our CleanSpace waterproof barrier to all the walls to restrict any moisture and water vapors from entering the basement. Lastly, a TripleSafe sump pump system was installed to guarantee protection from the common causes of pump failure. These three products combined provide a permanent solution to any wet basement.

This three-part system begins by inserting our PolyLevel foam to lift and level the sunken areas. NexusPro sealant is then used to seal all cracks and joints to prevent any water from entering underneath. Lastly, SealantPro is applied to the surface to help preserve and protect the concrete from deterioration. These three products combined permanently restore the driveway and increase its functionality.
