Fixing Gutters in Omaha, NE
This customer wanted to make sure the water was flowing away from their home correctly. And they especially wanted to make sure their basement was kept safe and dry, in an event they might need to use it as shelter from a storm.
When we visited the home to inspect the property, we found the gutters and downspouts were too small and were getting clogged. They were not running far enough from the foundation and were ripping away from the house in a storm and high winds.
To fix the problem, we installed our gutter shutter system on the home with the oversized trough and a wide mouth outlet. To keep the water away from the foundation, we also buried the downspouts 10 feet away from the foundation, in areas with good grade soil.
The customer was happy and feels better about the safety of her home during storms.
Foundation Repair in Syracuse, NE
This homeowner wanted to protect their home to maintain its value. They know this is their retirement home, so they must keep it in good shape for their future. Since they've worked with Thrasher in the past on other homes, they knew they could trust us to get the job done right.
Dillon Gubbels was the one to perform the inspection. He found that the house had wall failure along the back wall's foundation. This was causing separation cracks on their interior drywall. The soil outside their home was driving this problem and the pressure is applied to their foundation.
We fixed this by installing our wall support solution, Geo Anchors. The anchors were the ideal solution to be the least intrusive on their finished interior while stabilizing their foundation.
The customer was happy with the results and even said, "Thrasher is a company that stands behind their work."
Basement Waterproofing in Albion, NE
This customer had mold growing in the basement of his business. The mold was growing in a dirt portion of his basement. In an effort to fix this issue, the customer had a dehumidifer installed by a local HVAC company last year. But the mold was still thriving. That's when he decided to contact Midwest - to get rid of the mold and ensure the air is clean in his store for his employees and customers.
Brock Scott, a System Design Specialist at Midwest, went to the property to inspect. He found that the dirt floor wasn't preventing ground water seepage increasing the humidity of the area. And that dirt was growing mold from such a high humidity.
To fix this, we encapsulated the basement, similar to how we would a crawl space, to protect the air above it. We also installed drain lines and sumps to drain any surface water under the liner. And lastly, the crew also used a Sedona to dry the air while they were working since the area had 87% humidity at one point.
The customer was happy that his store is now safe for his customers and employees.
Foundation Repair in Iowa Falls
This customer owned this rental property that was experiencing bowing walls in the basement. They knew they had to fix this issue for several reasons: to protect their investment, prevent further damage to the home, and avoid having to displace a tenant if the walls were to collapse.
Mike Portal, a System Design Specialist at Thrasher Foundation Repair, went out to the home to conduct an inspection. He found that the walls were bowing in, and each foundation wall was in various stages of wall failure.
To solve this problem, we installed PowerBraces. This system is made from galvanized steel beams that will not rust and will straighten the walls with time. In just two days, the Thrasher Foundation Repair team secured and stabilized all walls in the basement. This was especially crucial for the homeowner to make sure we weren't invading the tenant's space for an extended period of time.
This customer was grateful we were able to save the failing foundation walls and felt the Thrasher Foundation Repair team went above and beyond to exceed expectations.
Basement Waterproofing in Waterloo, IA
This homeowner had recently finished their basement to get it ready to put on the market. During the spring, when the ground melted, they noticed water coming in from behind the stairs, ruining the drywall. So they called Thrasher Foundation Repair to come out and inspect. Mike Portal was the one to perform the inspection. He found that the water was coming in behind the finished walls through the cold and mortar joints on the block wall. This happened due to hydrostatic pressure from water filling up around the foundation.
To fix this issue, we installed WaterGuard and CleanSpace along the wall where the water was coming in. This will help direct and drain the water away from the home.
The homeowner now feels confident in our solution and is happy they won't have to deal with water ruining any more drywall in their home.
